Babyboomerang
Idealistic baby-boomers are back changing society
Original Title
Babyboomerang Le retour des baby-boomers idéalistes sur la scène sociale
The baby-boomer revolution isn't over...
This extremely up-to-the minute, well-argued and powerful essay brings us face to face with the many questions raised by the aging of baby boomers, a generation unique in our societies' history and whose impact on the system is still very much felt.
The first baby boomers are already reaching retirement age. Rather than retiring from the scene, the “Change Generation” is instead going to try to finish what it began to do long ago: change the world – especially since there's a global crisis brewing, a crisis that calls for a new way of looking at the world that aging “baby” boomers could very well help to bring about.
During their
Drop-Out period, hippies challenged the System. During their
Drop-In years, they tried to change society from within. The boomers are now reaching their third and final phase, the Drop-It years, where they will revolutionize the very concept of aging. And perhaps even more. Baby-boomers are just beginning to get their third wind.
